If you are privileged enough to have a nice, comfy pool in your home or apartment complex, then you are all set. Just follow some basic pointers to stay healthy and safe when having fun in the water. If you don't have access to a pool or would prefer privacy to a public pool, then you can have your wish and take it easy on your pocket too.First of all, decide on the kind of pool you would like to have. A pool can be above ground or in-ground. If it is an in-ground pool, you will then have to pick the materials you want used and the size as per your budget. You will need to get in touch with a contractor who will build your pool. You also need to be clear about zoning laws and the type of soil where you propose to put in your pool. Then you need to shortlist contractors, obtain estimates and references and then zero in on one. In the case of above ground pools, you can install it yourself if are enthusiastic enough about it. These can be anything from inflatable wading pools to a large permanent pool with its own deck. The plus points of above ground pools are that they are cheaper than their counterparts and can be dismantled if you decide to move. Irrespective of what kind of pool you set up, it is a good idea to have some landscaping around it. Once you have a pool it is also essential to install a pool filter to keep the water clear. Remember to enclose the pool with a fence and locks so no one accidentally wanders in and has an accident. Store lifesaving equipment such as floatation devices, a rope and pole within easy reach in case of any emergency. Apply abundant waterproof sunscreen before you dive in and drink plenty of water even if you don't feel thirsty. You don't want to get dehydrated after a day by the pool! It is better to be safe than sorry.
